5k

So last night my roommate and I stayed up ALL night talking. Around 5 Am we decided it wasn't worth even trying to go back to sleep so we went to the gym and ran bleachers. We were both dying!Seriously. But I picked up a paper for a 5k on September 11th. I know that i can physically do it but I'm worried that I will be SLOW as heck! But ya were getting to make a Walmart run. Maybe I'll actually do a not lame blog post soon. maybe....

Best days of your life

So I'm in Thatcher. My mom and I came up on Thursday and got me all moved in. Then she left and my roommates came up on Friday. We've gotten pretty much everything unpacked and put away with the exception of a few boxes. We look at them and promise were going to do it the next day but... It never happens. So at some point I'll finish unpacking. It's just hard when there's so much going on all the time. But our apartment is super cute! I love it!

What I've been up to:
Friday night: I went to a huge dance party. Surprisingly it was a ton of fun!

Saturday:I cant remember I'm pretty sure we just chilled honestly I cant remember haha.

Sunday: Church. ugh we sang hymn after hymn after hymn, because no one had a lesson. Basically it was super lame and I was dying by the end of it.Oh and we went for a little four Wheeling drive to the top of some mountain to see some stinky near empty pond.

Monday: After FHE about 20 of us or so went to a place called Cluff ponds. There's a big rope swing. I managed to master doing a back flip off it! So fun! except for the fact that it took me like a million tries to finally nail it and my arms have crazy sore the last two days! Dang im out of shape!

Tuesday: LONGEST DAY OF MY LIFE! Classes start at 8 am and just go on and on and on until 10 pm. I have short breaks in between but still. I'm pretty sure that my two 3 hour long BIO classes will be the death of me, yes I said 3 stinkin' hours! I think it's even harder because every other day I only have one class at 10.

But yeah that's basically it. I'm loving it here! We do the most random things
Usually it involves driving to see a pond or a river or something equally lame. But the people I go with make it fun!

Goodbye Peoria, Hello Thatcher.

It's after 12 and I'm leaving in just a few short hours to drive to thatcher. It was hard to stay home last year and watch everyone go off. It was hard to see the pictures uploaded to facebook. It was hard to see the status updates,to hear all about the fun times they were having and people they were meeting. Looking back I can see that there were reasons I needed to stay, and I'm thankful that I did. But now it's time for me to go and I couldn't be more excited! Anyways I have mucho packing to do tomorrow and I have to get some sleep so I can drive and not die.

sometimes

Sometimes I need a...long run.sonic slush.pedicure.to drive with the windows down. throw my head back and scream at the top of my lungs. good book. blog. blog stalk . loud music. hug . Today I needed to get ice cream with a practical stranger and get a sweet letter from the bestie. It couldnt have been more perfect.

Postage stamps

I heard this story in church last week and its stuck with me so I thought I would share. It's from a talk given by President Thomas S. Monson.

"I mention José Garcia from Mexico. Born in poverty but nurtured in faith, José prepared for a mission call. I was present the day his recommendation was received. There appeared the statement, “Brother Garcia will serve at great sacrifice to his family, for he is the means of much of the family support. He has but one possession—a treasured stamp collection—which he is willing to sell, if necessary, to help finance his mission.”

President Kimball listened attentively as this statement was read to him, and then he responded: “Have him sell his stamp collection. Such sacrifice will be to him a blessing.” Then this loving prophet said: “Each month at Church headquarters we receive thousands of letters from all parts of the world. See that we save these stamps and provide them to José at the conclusion of his mission. He will have, without cost, the finest stamp collection of any young man in Mexico."

I love this story. It's a perfect example of how we are blessed for our sacrifice.

Here is the link if you want to read the rest of the talk.

If I was...

If I was a season, I'd be Fall

If I was a piece of furniture, I'd be a bed

If I was a country, I'd be Australia

If I was a food, I'd be a cucumber

If I was a flower, I'd be a daisy

If I was a song, I couldn't pick just one

If I was an instrument, I'd be a piano

If I was a color, I'd be teal

If I was a letter, I'd be a love letter

If I was a book, I'd be Dusty Britches

If I was a time of day, I'd be sunset

If I was a drink, I'd be a Sonic Watermelon Slush

If I was a holiday, I'd be Thanksgiving

If I was a store, it would be full of vintage goodies

If I was a word, I'd be intoxicating

If I was a person, I'd be me

If I could know the future, I'd refuse to let it define me
